Student will work in GIS environment learning from engineers, designers or mapping personnel as they help support GIS projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing GIS data for Quality Control and Quality Assurance purposes
  • Visiting sites in field to collect data and verify Ameren records
  • Interacting with Ameren contractors to evaluate/confirm the validity of data provided to Ameren
  • Documenting work practices utilized to gather, evaluate and record GIS data
  • Assisting with updates to Ameren data

Qualifications

Current student status pursuing a degree in GIS, Geography or related field from an accredited college or university required. Must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA but, 3.0 GPA is preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will:

  • Solid part-time work history preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Offices skills, especially Excel preferred. Data base skills preferred.
  • Work effectively as part of a team
  • Demonstrate creative problem solving and proactive learning, with good analytical, management, communication, and human relations skills.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate clearly
  • Have the ability to perform multiple tasks within given time constraints with little to no oversight.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
