“A Day in the Life”

As a Certified and trained Forklift Operator/Yard Assistant you will operate a tugger to move and retrieve modular buildings, containers, tanks, and large, heavy equipment in our yard. You will also operate forklifts to stack and retrieve supplies and materials and document location of equipment in the warehouse. You will assist the yard crews as needed with changing tires/axles and other miscellaneous needs in the yard.

“What You’ll Do”

  • Operate tugger and other equipment to move and retrieve modular buildings, containers, tanks and large, heavy equipment in the yard
  • Operate forklift to stack and retrieve supplies and materials within the warehouse
  • Occasionally deliver materials to job sites using company vehicle
  • Assist yard crew as needed with changing tires and axles on modular buildings
  • Assisting with inventory accuracy when in the warehouse
  • Document location of equipment and communicate location to office staff as needed
  • Ensure equipment is in proper working order and documents inspections of equipment; reports discrepancies
  • Maintain daily inspection log(s) for equipment and properly report exceptions; ensure equipment receives periodic maintenance
  • Have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for role
  • Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  • Fill and deliver material vouchers to production crews
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Ability to safely perform all tasks and understand Company’s safety policies and procedures
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in related work required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Possess and maintain current certification in the operations of required forklift and related equipment
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to maintain physical activity for most of the day
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and hold or lift a variety of objects
    • Able to carry, bend, stoop, turn, kneel, crawl, climb a ladder and other manual labor activities
