You will be responsible for…
• Creating designs that can be uniquely optimized for each social media audience and align with ESPN’s social brand identities.
• Working in a fast-paced environment that requires multiple pieces of content to be quickly turned into designs in a single day.
• Collaborating alongside social media specialists and helping them execute on their visions.
• Bringing ideas to the table in weekly brainstorming sessions and daily content meetings.
• Working with social media specialists and the creative director to drive content plans for priority events and initiatives.
• Educating social media specialists to enhance their understanding of core design concepts to maintain ESPN’s visual brand and create optimized social media content.
• Communicating with managers and producers to regularly update project timelines and report on progress.
• Interacting with internal and external partners.
• Strong ability to vet content to ensure visuals adhere to ESPN’s values and brand while keeping the social media audience in mind.

You must have:
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in social media design.
• An online portfolio/demo that showcases your creativity, designs, and skills.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• An understanding of social media and other emerging platforms.
• A basic knowledge of the sports landscape, including current athletes and sporting events.
• An understanding and appreciation of audience analytics.

Preferred:
• A willingness to learn about and implement new editing software with the ESPN Social design team when needed.
• Proficiency in video editing software, including but not limited to Adobe After Effects and Premiere.
• Strong knowledge of the sports landscape.
• Strong familiarity with social media and pop culture trends.
• Highly skilled at interpreting and applying social data to influence design choices.
• High school diploma and appropriate combination of relevant training and experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field preferred.
• The salary range for this position in New York is $88,478 – $118,690 per year. The base salary offered will take into account internal equity and may also vary based on the candidate’s geographic location, knowledge, skills, and experience related to the position among other factors. Long-term bonuses and/or incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, depending on the level and position offered.
