Starbucks is seeking a Senior Regulatory Compliance Scientist to join our team, providing an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-profile North American projects within a large cross-functional group.

 

 This role is pivotal in ensuring that our retail and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) channel products meet regulatory compliance requirements, thereby maintaining the trust of our partners and customers in Starbucks' safety and quality. The successful candidate will work closely with various teams, suppliers, and industry experts to implement compliance programs that align with Starbucks' mission and values. In this position, you will leverage your scientific expertise to deliver effective labeling review and data integrity practices.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage scientific acumen to deliver effective labeling review and data integrity practices and processes.
  • Contribute to the implementation of programs and strategic plans.
  • Build effective and influential relationships within and outside of Starbucks by modeling Starbucks mission and values consistently.
  • Solve broad problems in area of expertise by leveraging other experts and integrating other functions.
  • Act as an expert in areas of focus and apply sound technical principles to root cause analyses and problem solving.
  • Provide and maintain strong knowledge in applicable US and Canada food regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain broad scale labeling, nutrition and data integrity programs.

Requirements

  • General Science (4 years), Food Safety, Microbiology, Env Public Health or Food Science Degree
  • 5 years minimum experience in regulatory roles, experience with retail, CPG, supplier management, and Joint Venture relationships
  • Prior experience working in cross functional teams and acting as a technical professional
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to help the team leverage data that supports Starbucks business goals.
