Strategic Partnerships, Virtual Power Plants, Residential Energy ID-9027

The VPP team partners with global sales, marketing, product, legal and program operations to support the rapid growth of Energy products globally. This is a key cross-functional decision-making role with high impact, business accountability, and executive visibility. As owner of strategic VPP partnerships, you will be responsible for managing existing partnerships within the VPP ecosystem, qualifying new program opportunities, and vetting the next cohort of partners. The ideal candidate has a passion for sustainable energy, collaborates well with others, and is skilled at qualifying and maintaining value add relationships with external parties.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of strategic partnership plans to drive virtual power plant adoption, targeting utilities, municipalities, and energy service providers
  • Be an expert on Tesla's suite of residential energy products, including Powerwall, and effectively communicate their benefits to potential partners and customers within the utility sector
  • Analyze the market and identify potential opportunities for virtual power plant projects, taking into account the unique needs and challenges of each utility while championing best practices for good customer outcomes
  • Prepare comprehensive proposals and negotiate contracts to secure virtual power plant installations and partnerships
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and operations, to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies to identify competitive advantages and enhance sales strategies



Requirements

  • Comfortable managing multiple projects with a high degree of complexity
  • Strong interest in energy industry, including utility operations, grid management, and renewable energy integration
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders, including utility executives, engineers, and government officials
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively to identify opportunities and overcome challenges in the virtual power plant adoption space. And a track record of developing successful complex programs
  • Proficient in contract negotiations and adept at finding win-win solutions that align with both parties' objectives
  • Proven leadership skills to inspire and motivate partners and drive successful project implementation
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet with potential partners and attend industry conferences and events

    • $88,000 - $168,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
