Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

DISTINGUISHING JOB CHARACTERISTICS

Performs a wide range of tasks essential to the daily operations of the Domestic Relations Court. Schedules court proceedings, maintains the dockets of the Judges and Magistrates and processes various court documents. Navigates the electronic case management systems for juvenile and domestic cases, accurately enters data, works well under pressure, and communicates clearly and professionally with the public, attorneys, agency representatives, and other court employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed below. Reasonable accommodations will be made for disabled persons, covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act, in accordance with its requirements.

Schedules court proceedings, organizes and maintains the dockets of the Judges and Magistrates and processes various court documents. Monitors task queues for work returned by the Magistrate or Judge.

Processes motions, divorces, dissolutions, journal entries and other legal documents and records within set timeframes. Collects and transports documents, pulls case files and journal entries for Court hearings.

Completes work in a timely, consistent manner and is committed to being available during business hours to further organizational goals. Consistently meets deadlines.

Assists the judicial officers, personal staff, public, professionals, and other agency staff at a designated public counter, answers telephone calls and responds to inquiries regarding assignment and rescheduling of hearings. Checks in parties and witnesses for court hearings. Provides assistance to the public with virtual hearings.

Distributes, collects, and reviews Financial Disclosure Forms for court appointed attorney requests or other appropriate court-related forms.

Maintains a professional and polite disposition at all times when dealing with public, coworkers, court staff, service providers, and other outside agencies. Stays calm and even-tempered when handling crises, stressful situations, continuous change, or unexpected developments. Works effectively in a team environment to accomplish organizational goals.

Completes required documentation and provides clerical assistance as requested by judicial officer, Team Leader, or Administration. Completes work in a timely, consistent manner and consistently meets deadlines.

Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance and arrives prepared to work; meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential functions. Maintains flexibility in work hours to accommodate the needs of the Court, including, but not limited to, covering the public counter until all hearings conclude for the day.

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
