STATEMENT OF THE JOB: Under the overall supervision of the Early Childhood Director and the direct supervision of the Center Manager of designated site. Perform duties related to food service and maintaining a clean facility and playground.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assist in creating a warm and welcoming environment that supports childrens growth and development.
  2. Maintain a professional attitude with staff, parents, volunteers, and children at all times.
  3. Assist in the daily preparation and serving of breakfast, snacks and/or lunches.
  4. Responsible for daily cleaning of the building, including, but not limited to:
  • clean-up of dishes and utensils,
  • take trash out and
  • wash garbage cans
  1. Assist in keeping the kitchen area clean, organized and sanitary, including proper storage of food and supplies. Thoroughly clean the refrigerator and freezer at least weekly.
  2. Responsible for wearing Non-skid footwear while working in the kitchen. Cut-resistant gloves must be worn when using cutting tools, knives, etc. in the kitchen.
  3. Assist in preparing documentation relating to nutrition.
  4. Assist with cleaning duties, including, but not limited to:
  • vacuum all carpeted / rug areas, spot clean needed,
  • clean all tile floors,
  • laundry and
  • cleaning childrens and staff bathrooms
  1. Assist with the transporting of food to designated sites.
  2. Responsible for data management in designated areas.
  3. Assist in the avoidance or appearance of fraud and insurance of compliance in designated areas.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Respect confidentiality in all aspects of the Program.
  2. Attend a minimum of 15 clock hours of professional development per year that is within the scope of job responsibilities.
  3. Must be willing to participate in all training designed for professional development.
  4. Able to handle stress, tension and exasperation that contact with many children and adults may bring every day.
  5. May be called upon to administer first aid to children or staff at any time in the program. he incidental nature of this circumstance effectively establishes first aid as a collateral duty, rather than a primary one.
  6. Perform other job-related duties as necessary for the overall operation of the program.
