Assists leadership team with administrative and technical support as required. Recognizes necessity of staff to own their motivation, morale, performance, and professional development. chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Certification Summary</b></p><ul><li>Current certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or Histotechnician/Histotechnologist (ASCP or equivalent)</li><li>Eligible Georgia Department of Human Resources supervisor certification</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</b></p><ul><li>Considerable knowledge of laboratory equipment, instrumentation, terminology, and regulatory agency standards</li><li>Must have technical expertise for all procedures and directs testing activities.</li><li>Performs duties, makes decisions, takes actions, and continually strives to improve work processes using an awareness of how work performed is valued by the customer.</li><li>Ensures sufficient quantities of supplies, reagents, and qualified/competent staff are available to meet standards of care as appropriate for age of patients served in a cost-effective manner.</li><li>Supervises laboratory personnel engaged in performing routine and specialized technical procedures, evaluating work performed, and handling procedural and technical laboratory problems.</li><li>Implements quality control programs to ensure reliability of testing procedures, proper function of laboratory equipment, and ongoing compliance with federal regulations and other regulatory agencies.</li><li>Prepares and maintains applicable records.</li><li>Prepares administrative reports reflecting volume of work, procedures utilized, and test results.</li><li>Coordinates preparation of reports and analyses, setting forth progress, adverse trends, and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.</li><li>Performs technical functions of Medical Technologist 3 or Senior Histotechnician as outlined in MT or HT job description and performs other duties as required by department.</li><li>Participates actively in hiring new staff.</li><li>Coaches team members and clarifies performance expectations for each.</li><li>Provides timely feedback in a positive manner that supports staff success and promotes ownership and commitment.</li><li>Completes annual performance evaluations.</li><li>Follows departmental and system policies and procedures, including those pertaining to safety and compliance.</li><li>Provides job breakdown sheets and encourages adherence to standard work and continual process improvement.</li><li>Actively promotes a lean culture by performing duties to promote an understanding and consistent
