Position Summary:

The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in both the clinical and front office areas of the practice. This individual will support providers with patient care, assist with administrative duties as needed, and contribute to maintaining efficient clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Exceptional Service: Welcome patients warmly, providing prompt, professional, and courteous assistance throughout their visit.
  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, history, and reason for visit
  • Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing (preferred)
  • Assist providers with procedures and exams
  • Administer injections and medications as ordered
  • Accurately document in the electronic medical record (EMR- AthenaOne)
  • Clean and stock exam rooms
  • Support front desk operations when needed, including:
  • Patient check-in/check-out
  • Insurance verification and co-pay collection
  • Appointment scheduling and answering phones
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean environment in compliance with OSHA and infection control standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional office environment.

Skills:

  • Proven working experience as a medical assistant
  • Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Social perceptiveness and service oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
  • Degree in medical assistance (preferred)

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience (preferred)
  • Current BLS certification (or willing to obtain upon hire)
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Front desk or administrative experience preferred (or willing to learn)
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, and every other holiday (if the facility is open)
  • Transportation: Reliable transportation is required.
  • Language: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.
