Sr Specialist, Aircraft Records - Operations ID-4243

About the position

The Sr Specialist, Aircraft Records is a key member of the Aircraft Configuration Management Team within the Integrated Operations Division at American Airlines. This role is responsible for managing the configuration and maintenance status of active aircraft and their components, ensuring compliance with FAA and OEM requirements. The position involves providing technical expertise, training, and mentoring to other specialists, as well as overseeing documentation and maintenance tracking systems to maintain airworthiness standards.

  • Provide technical expertise and mentor specialists on maintenance transactions and documentation in Tech Ops maintenance systems.

  • Train specialists on part and task related configuration of active aircraft and generate internal instructions for ongoing maintenance items.

  • Oversee daily maintenance tracking of major aircraft assemblies for shop maintenance and part changes.
  • ,

  • Investigate and resolve complex discrepancies in Tech Ops maintenance systems to ensure accurate configuration and maintenance status.
  • ,

  • Manage the replacement of FAA Airworthiness Certificates and Aircraft registrations on active aircraft.
  • ,

  • Maintain Emergency Locator Transmitters (ELT) registrations on NOAA for active aircraft.
  • ,

  • Document new and revised business processes with a focus on Continuous Improvement.
  • ,

  • Balance daily job assignments across the team according to operational demand.
  • ,

  • Serve as the department focal point with Tech Ops partner departments on key projects and initiatives.
  • ,

  • Engage suppliers and vendors for part maintenance discrepancies and documentation.

Requirements


  • Associate's degree or higher in a technical or aviation-related field.
  • ,

  • 5 years of relevant experience.
  • ,

  • Proficiency in SCEPTRE or System Time Control (STC) maintenance systems.

Nice-to-haves


  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical or aviation-related field.
  • ,

  • Experience with other aircraft maintenance systems such as SAFE, AMPS, TechSight X.
  • ,

  • Lean Office or Lean Manufacturing training.
  • ,

  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt or higher certification
