Responsibilities
• Lead a team of high-performing attorneys in responding to information incidents and data breaches.

• Negotiate privacy, security, and data-related language in contracts with clients and vendors.

• Support M&A efforts by advising on data, cyber, and privacy-related issues.

• Provide guidance on methodologies for de-identifying data.

• Develop and administer privacy notices and policies.

• Create and implement data, cyber, and privacy training programs.

• Collaborate with Government Affairs on legislative and regulatory developments.

• Work with Cigna Information Protection to build relationships with law enforcement agencies.

• Assess and communicate requirements of new privacy laws and regulations.

Requirements
• Juris Doctor required.
,
• 10+ years of regulatory compliance experience, with at least 8 years focused on healthcare privacy.

• In-house privacy experience at a large, matrixed healthcare company preferred.
,
• Deep understanding of HIPAA, state and federal privacy laws, and data use regulations.
,
• Extensive experience in assessing and mitigating legal risks related to privacy and data governance.
,
• Strong contract negotiation skills.
,
• Ability to support business leaders for sustainable growth.
,
• Experience interacting with regulators and enforcement agencies.

• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor legal teams in a fast-paced environment.
