Regional Account Executive - Remote in Nashville, TN ID-14039

About the position

The Regional Account Executive is responsible for promoting Walgreens specialty pharmacy services to targeted healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and practice managers, particularly within complex disease states such as Oncology, Organ Transplant, Multiple Sclerosis, Fertility, and Pulmonary conditions like Cystic Fibrosis. This role involves identifying growth opportunities within both small and large group practices, hospitals, and health systems, and engaging with internal and external stakeholders as necessary. The position requires significant interaction with various stakeholders in the healthcare system, necessitating a deep understanding of complex reimbursement systems and the flow of healthcare dollars, including Medicare Part B/D, ACOs, GPOs, and hospitals. The Regional Account Executive must demonstrate strong business planning skills, adapting and executing effective business plans to achieve and exceed quarterly sales goals. A comprehensive understanding of the complex disease state markets is essential, as is the ability to anticipate future trends and opportunities. The role also involves account management, where the executive coordinates care and sells Walgreens and AllianceRx Walgreens Pharmacy services throughout hospital systems and provider networks. This includes developing both short- and long-range business plans to meet growth expectations and identifying opportunities to build relationships with alliance partners outside the company. In addition to account management, the executive is expected to deliver persuasive presentations and messages that drive desired actions, strategically utilizing a variety of tools and internal resources during sales interactions. The role also includes mentoring and training new Account Managers under the guidance of the Regional Sales Director, as well as participating in special projects and assisting in the recruitment of new team members. Overall, the Regional Account Executive plays a critical role in driving the growth of Walgreens specialty pharmacy services within their designated region.

Responsibilities

  • Promote Walgreens specialty pharmacy services to targeted healthcare professionals.
  • Identify growth opportunities within small and large group practices, hospitals, and health systems.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate discussions and initiatives.
  • Develop and execute effective business plans to achieve and exceed quarterly sales goals.
  • Monitor competitors and sales trends to develop appropriate sales plans.
  • Coordinate care and sell Walgreens and AllianceRx Walgreens Pharmacy services within hospital systems and provider networks.
  • Develop short- and long-range business plans to achieve growth expectations.
  • Deliver persuasive presentations and messages to drive desired actions.
  • Mentor and train new Account Managers under the guidance of the Regional Sales Director.
  • Participate in special projects and assist in recruiting new team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 7 years of pharmaceutical sales or healthcare sales experience, or a High School Diploma/GED with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with advanced selling skills in a complex product or service environment.
  • Proven ability to develop strategic business plans to meet financial targets.
  • Experience in diagnosing and resolving complex issues and implementing strategies.
  • Expert knowledge of complex disease states and the specialty pharmacy delivery system.
  • Experience with billing procedures for hospitals and medical offices, including Medicare.
  • Ability to analyze and report sales data to identify trends and drive improvements.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Experience in developing and delivering presentations to various audience levels.
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least 5 years of experience selling specialty products or services in relevant disease state groups.
  • Business to business experience in a medical setting or managed care experience.
  • Experience working with transplant centers and referral sources in a high touch sales/service model.
