Summary:

The Office Clerk performs a variety of administrative functions in the Alaska plant office in the support of manufacturing operations.

Note:  Effective 1 December 2024, Office Clerks residing in Trident housing will be subject to a co-pay of $15 per day for room and board, for each day that at least 8 hours of work is offered.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists with plant office operations including but not limited to answering phones, supporting Trident staff, governmental and plant production reporting, shipping, preparation of payrolls, and a variety of clerical and administrative services.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge or the aptitude for learning new office applications.
  • Maintains ongoing contact with fishermen, employees, local vendors, and customers which may vary by location.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
Minimum Requirements 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to learn and use appropriate software applications which includes but is not limited to Excel, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, timekeeping systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Training/Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move 10 to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision and depth perception.

Mental Activities:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, speak, write and understand English, and to use customer service skills. The employee is frequently required to use interpersonal and teamwork skills. The employee is occasionally required to use creativity, independent judgment, discretion, and problem analysis.
