You are a generous teammate, ready to share knowledge and pitch in during key busy moments throughout the year to ensure consumers are served the know-how they need to make smart financial decisions. Projects you may be working on in this position include:

  • You’ll manage your section of Core Personal Finance’s content library to achieve its full potential as a driver of registrations and sessions. This will include deciding when to optimize content to take advantage of seasonal or event-driven traffic; and how to use syndication strategically to grow topic authority, point traffic back to key clusters and pages, and support audience development on related platforms (e.g., Smart Money podcast, social video, CRM, etc).

  • You’ll write with clear objectives in mind and brainstorm new, easy-to-digest formats that suit each platform.

Where you can make an impact:

  • Act as subject-matter expert for Core Personal Finance across the Content team by proposing articles, tools, initiatives and/or solutions that ladder directly to business objectives.

  • Pitch and develop compelling, consumer-first new content and collaborate with your teammates and editors to test differentiated content that can appear across multiple platforms (website, syndication, native app, social media channels, email newsletters, etc).

  • Collaborate on proactive media outreach by identifying breaking news, trends, seasonal/newsworthy angles, and productively share what you’re working on.

  • Build/foster relationships with reporters partnering with your PR counterpart to identify a list of target media to engage with via social media.

  • Come to study brainstorms with ideas or survey questions that will equip us with unique data to share with the media.

  • Manage and enhance the Core Personal Finance content library for maximum reach and effectiveness.

  • Leverage syndication and cross-platform strategies to grow audience and authority.

  • Act as a media spokesperson, providing expert insights to validate NerdWallet’s credibility.

  • Collaborate with team members and contribute during peak periods to support consumers' financial decisions.

Your experience:

  • Demonstrated track record of solid SEO skills and a willingness to adapt tactics as conditions change.

  • Strong writing and self-editing skills.

  • Ability to travel for media tours and ongoing relationship-building.

  • Able to work public holidays and outside of normal business hours in order to win the news cycle.

  • Breadth of topic authority — As experts in their respective areas, spokespeople should be able to speak to all altitudes of their topic area, breaking news and events related to their expertise.
