- Communicate with customers to monitor inventories and anticipate production needs.
- Arrange and negotiate third-party freight costs for timely servicing of waste by-product pick-ups.
- Monitor and maintain shipment status via computer system.
- Respond to customer complaints and investigate shipment issues.
- Initiate calls to customers for deliveries and advise on shipment delays.
- Review pricing with Sales and Marketing groups.
- Develop relationships with vendors, customers, and freight carriers.
- Handle documentation for shipments, including export documentation.
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and record vendor payments.
- Resolve downgrades and rejects of waste material with customers and vendors.
- Coordinate services with other supervisors/managers and keep them informed of issues.
- Provide feedback to supervisors regarding service failures and customer complaints.
- Meet or exceed service and operational goals for the call center.
- Collaborate with sales representatives to enhance customer service expectations.
- Perform special projects and tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (accredited).
- Two years of relevant work experience in a customer service role.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly basic Excel.
- Work experience that required the use of a computer.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous logistical background in transportation or import/export industry.
- Experience with order tracking and setup.
- Data entry background.
- Heavy Excel knowledge.
- Previous experience working with customer/vendor relationships.
